At The Steps Of The Gallows – Once Again

 
Is this not where governments, of the world, now find themselves? Has the Coronavirus disease shown us what we mean, to them? All they seem to be doing is focusing on the economy. We must keep the economy stable. We must keep the economy safe. That’s all they seem to be saying; the economy, the economy, the economy.
Could it be that this pandemic is showing what the economy is built on; stores, malls, supermarkets, struggling with stock?

We now live, we have been living, in a ‘just in time’ economic environment. We never saw it because there was no reason to see it, but now we can. Now we see empty shelves, queues for shopping, panic buying and hoarding. Could it be, might it be, that they have quarantined the world because the world went shopping?

We all saw the pictures, we all saw the people. Never have we seen times like this before.

Are the governments of the world stood at the steps of the gallows? We vote for them, we put them where they are, but equally we can remove them.
Is that what they now fear?

Are we now seeing the big business bail-out? How many people on the street, will see the money, will feel the rescue packages?

Is this a helicopter drop for the people, to protect the people, or is it a golden parachute for the big corporations?

Will we be the last to find out?
Will we see any of this money? Have we ever seen any money before, when these bail-outs take place, when these financial leviathans are supported?

Where do people find themselves? Are we considered, are we even thought about? Are we only remembered when they need someone to bail them out?

Is it always our fault, or are we just easy targets?
