In Times Of Forgiveness
In times of forgiveness, where are the people of the world today; trapped in purgatory, or approaching salvation?
That depends on where you are sat; are you trapped in Gaza, Palestinian, or are you Jewish in Israel?
Some say you should live an eye for an eye, others say all sins should be forgiven. What is the best solution? Does anyone know for sure?
Look at where the world is, conflicts abound, loss of life; is there a point of no return?
How many countries are on that precipice?
Russia and Ukraine, Syria and America, Israel against Palestine; all sins can be forgiven, but will all sinners repent? We know not of the hearts and minds of the people, we only bear witness to their deeds.
Those without sin can cast the first stone; so why the war, why the conflict, why the challenge?
Greed, power, and fear; what a combination. Greed for land, hunger for power, and fear of the unknown. Who sets the boundaries? Who chooses the battle fields? What rights do people have, to take what is not theirs?
We look across the lands, we see the smoke rising, we see the needless loss of life; and yet for some, that is an acceptable price, for others an inexcusable path.
Who amongst them that throw the stones, does so for the goodness of their people; and who is doing it for an agenda of their own?
To take, to steal, to rape, to rob a land; people are fickle, people want to take from others, people use persuasion, propaganda, and words; they are always right, the purveyors of their righteousness. How can they do wrong, they are on a holy path?
When two sides come together in conflict, there always seems to be bloodshed, there always seems to be destruction, there always seems to be loss of life; why is that now so accepted? Why is that the price? What makes this way, the only way?
Greed and fear, in times of forgiveness, can the bonds that are broken be repaired?
Can things that have passed be undone?
What hope is there for all of us, if this way of life continues?
