The 2008 Financial Crisis – Back Again In Spades
In 2008 we saw a financial crisis explode, it became worldwide news. The markets, the world’s economies, the very financial system we rely on, was at the precipice of disaster.
We were all on a cliff edge.
The gamble and the bets were being called at the same time. The longs and the shorts, the derivatives markets, the CLOs, the CDOs, the mortgage-backed securities, the ETFs; all these financial instruments, all these long, high risk bets were about to blow up in their faces. Banks would not lend to banks; LIBOR was at a standstill.
The liquidity of the world had dried up; credit had stopped. We were 24 hours away from calamity.
How did they avert this?
They bailed out the financial institutions, they bailed out the banks, they glued together the rotten wood. To this day that wood is still rotten. The underlying foundations of everything we take for granted are still on a knife edge, we have just been lulled into a false sense of security.
They will always bet us, the people, against their survival; we are expendable, they believe they are not.
Now we have another problem.
This black swan event has thrown the world into chaos. Big corporations, financial institutions, are once again in serious trouble, and once again are we now not seeing them rescuing themselves. Hundreds of Billions, many Trillions of Dollars, have suddenly been made available once again to these big leviathans.
They say, to protect our jobs, to protect our way of life but who is protecting who and from what?
The corporate world exists on debt, they have always borrowed to survive; ‘kicking the can down the road’, ‘rolling over’ the debt, year, after year, after year; until one day a black swan event occurs.
The event they had hoped would never arrive.
But do not fear, do not worry, the people in charge of the money spigot, the people in charge of the desks, will not let this system fail. They will create money into infinity, to keep us under control.
Do you think this is possible?
Do these people really exist that create and give money to themselves? Look into two opposing mirrors and you can see the infinity that they get to live in.
Should we even care?
What are our lives worth?
Are we not content and happy today?
