The Punch & Judy Show – Who Are They?
The Doctors and Nurses, should we clap for them? Your damn right we should? Should we applaud them? Most definitely.
For they are the sacrificial lambs, they are the heroes standing between us and our own hubris, our own stupidity.
This virus, this pandemic, this Coronavirus, COVID-19, that is gripping the world; has it not shown us for who we are?
A threat approaches, a killer creeping up upon us; what is our reaction?
Pay no attention, pay it no mind, it is someone else’s problem, as it creeps up from behind.
Have they put business before lives, have they not always put business before lives?
The economy, the economy, oh, the economy. Hang the health of the nation. Hang the health of the people; we are just an expendable asset.
As more become ill, as more doctors, more nurses, more helpers, more specialists, put themselves in harm’s way, to protect us, the people; should we now not look at the true state by which we live.
Dare we even do this?
If we really do look at our lives, really see ourselves in our true light; are we not all throwing caution to the wind?
Is this pandemic a real threat? How many have to die? Whose door does the grim reaper have to knock upon, for us all to come to our senses?
Will we ever come to our senses? How many people are turning away? How many people prefer to live their lives with their heads in the sand?
Some used to say, not interested, talk to the hand.
This virus is very serious, this disease does not know boundaries, it does not know borders, it does not care who we are.
The young, the middle aged, and the old, all stand on an equal footing before this killer.
We should distance ourselves from it and each other. We need to strangle it out of existence. Give it no new hosts, nowhere to embed itself and it will die.
With nowhere to feed, it starves to death.
Kill the disease, keep our distance and save lives.
