With The Passage Of Time
How far has humanity moved on, in 2000 years? How much have people changed?
Is there really modern life? Is there really evolution?
How can there be? How have we really evolved?
There are still wars, still conflicts; people are still fighting over their little piece of turf.
In the 2000 years that have passed, humanity, it seems, has learnt very little; life is still being taken, life is still being misused, life for many is still on the line. 2000 years, two long thousand years; one step forward and three steps back.
What has to happen for people on the whole, to actually make a concerted effort to move forward from where they are?
Do we still need wars to settle our differences?
In ‘Star Trek’, with the Federation, money has been abolished, there is plenty for all, people work in harmony to achieve a common goal; why is that such a difficult concept? Why can people not see it? Why is greed and fear still driving people? Why do people have to have more than others? Why is there incessant competition?
Surely in 2000 years of human history, people should have put behind them petty squabbles, and petty differences?
Race, colour, religion; all have a right to exist, all have a right to function; so why is it then that there has to be dominance? Why does one religion have to be greater than another?
Do not all have the right to believe, to pray, to worship, to whoever they wish?
On this planet of ours we are just a teardrop in the sun, we will eventually evaporate; would it not be better to have been someone to someone you know, than to be no one and live in irrelevance?
So many people make a difference, so many unsung heroes; and yet still there is needless killing, needless conflict, needless war.
Who are the people that lead us? What are their motives?
Where are they taking us, but into oblivion?
Whatever choices people have, they can choose to be alone or to be seen; which one would you prefer to be?
Can we rise again, from where we have fallen?
